Long Beach near Tofino, Vancouver Island

Long Beach, in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, is the best known and most visited of the three sections of the park, with over one million visitors walking its beaches each year. While the summer months are most popular, winter provides an opportunity to witness the forces that have created and continue to evolve this spectacular landscape.

Winter storm watchers come from around the world to enjoy the wild weather of Canada’s west coast. With over 325 cm (127 in) of annual precipitation, high winds and massive surf, Long Beach is a storm watcher’s winter paradise.
